My name is Sarang Joshi. I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. My work focuses on formal verification of security related properties for binary level code. In short, my research, to prove properties of code as opposed to testing the code thus providing high assurance for the verified software. Prior to this, I have completed a Master’s thesis in Human Computer Interaction where I developed a search user interface to understand and assist graduate students for performing academic search. I am originally from Pune, India where I have completed my undergraduate in Information Technology. Before joining Virginia Tech, I worked as a software developer at Accenture India. Beyond my research, I have a passion for learning and teaching and strive to communicate ideas to students in a personalized fashion which seems most intuitive to them.
